Sue Johnson - Biography
Sue’s specialist field is tissue viability/wound care and she has a particular interest in surgical site infections and the diabetic foot.Sue has practised as a registered nurse for 44 years and in 1990 set up the Tissue Viability service within the Doncaster Royal Infirmary as part of a successful Sigma project, before establishing the wound care and leg ulcer service – a unique service within the acute setting.
Sue is also a registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner with a Master’s Degree in Advanced Practice, a Non-Medical Prescriber with Diplomas in wound care, leg ulcer management and diabetic foot ulcer management.
Sue retired from the NHS in 2016 and now practices as a medico-legal Nurse Consultant. She has a small private practice and is active in the education field teaching wound care to Practice Nurses, nursing students and healthcare associates.
Sue also works as a nurse for the British Horseracing association working at several racecourses.
